I set the Ancestry Unofficial Facebook group as a democratic alternative to the ancestry.com users group, run by one power-hungry Administrator and no Moderators. 

The overarching rule there was that you could only talk about Ancestry.com and not about genealogy more widely, even from an Ancestry.com member’s point of view. 

This alternative group is simple – you create the rules and we are ruled by the majority of members. Administrators and Moderators then uphold the rules created by the many. The forum here is where you can discuss how the Facebook group is run.
